More than a decade after federal laws were changed to give consumers more options for television service, only four percent of U.S. households have more than one choice for their wired video service.
According to a Phoenix Center for Advanced Legal & Economic Public Policy Studies, America’s current system of local government approvals for video services will cost consumers $8.2 billion this year alone. If this antiquated system is not reformed, this cost rises to almost $30 billion after just four years.
